The last few weeks have been hectic but also very insightful for me. I rediscovered TTT. During the past few years, life has been busy and that's exactly why I need to apply TTT more in my life, in and outside the classroom.
Now, if you are a teacher -like me- you probably think I'm talking about Teacher Talking Time here but I'm not. Nor am I talking about the invaluable Test-Test-Test approach to teaching or Things Take Time. This TTT relates to something more personal, something more reflective and apparently introverts are quite good at... Time to Think!
Welcome! I'm Anna, a self-confessed addict to learning and teaching with a keen interest in anything related to educational psychology. I'm an introvert and love to live in my head but because it's getting rather busy in there I've taken the plunge to share some of my thoughts with you. I hope this blog will provide a space where I can structure my thought processes and share ideas with you. Hopefully this blog also helps me to allow myself to go into my bubble more regularly and give myself time to write afterwards.
One of the reasons I love living in my head is that I'm obsessed by how to make effective learning happen. I believe that the secret of effective learning lies in effective teaching. For this to take place we teachers need to gain a greater awareness of what we are doing, saying and embodying in the classroom. Therefore, reflecting on our beliefs is key; why are we doing and saying certain things and embodying certain attitudes? I feel it's important for teachers to reflect on their beliefs, behaviours, attitudes and language use in the classroom if we want to explore what possible impact these might have on the learning process.
